This is a photo story from some cities in the nationwide May Day 2026 protests organized under the banner, Power to the Workers, Not the Billionaires. The photos show an ever-growing solidarity in the fight of U.S. workers for human rights, democracy, a living wage, for ICE out, a defense of immigrants, a tax on billionaires and corporations, and for no to war. Union members and young people, especially students, were major participants. Protest signs in cities expressed people’s demands for higher wages, health care, education, food programs, for defense of immigrants, against the disrespect and abuse toward students, teachers, the unhoused, unions, LGTBQ+ people, and a growing rejection of illegal and immoral wars for billionaire profits. Anger was shows especially at Trump, his administration, and Congress for the constitutional violations and the untold billions of our tax dollars spent benefitting billionaires. The lies that immigrants or homeless people are driving down the economy are being rejected by growing numbers of everyday people. It is the billionaires, those who live in splendor, often tax free, and a government that serves them, not the people, that are the cause of the suffering. The overiding message is that we cannot fight effectively alone. We must join all our forces together. — People’s Tribune
